I’ve always loved circles when I design or paint (But prefer square formats for my painting canvases). Circles make me happy. It could be that they feel softer, are comforting and simple, more than a triangle or a rectangle. Or that they have so many meanings. I use them in my paintings as ‘halos’. They are associated with energy, power, harmony and infinity.
I’ve been told on many occasion about the negativity of using circles too much. Of course, I ignore that. If it doesn’t make sense for the client or project in particular, I’m not going to use circles. But on a personal note, a circle will always win, however it’s use.
